Living in an old farm house located in Taivassalo (in South-Western Finland), a village known for herring and Balmoral Red stone. Family consists of a wife, the kids and the cat have already left the cottage.
Visited some schools in Turku and after the matriculation examination spent several years in the University of Turku, where I finally managed to have my M.Sc. with Mathematics and Physics as principal subjects.
The most recent part of my work history before a role as Web service/eCommerce specialist in Perushop Oy was involved in Mobile-TV R&D in Nokia Oyj, where I contributed in development, implementation, testing, support and maintenance of services in various roles. Before joining Nokia I had a long career in legal metrology in Inspecta Oy (successor of TTK, successor of TTL)
IT, computers and data management has been around for a long time already as I had Computer science also in my studies. Since then I've been involved in ISP business (Wakkanet Oy) and run a small consulting & support business of my own for years (Rouhun Laarit). The experience from the internet and Web technologies I'm utilizing all the time.
When not playing with data I like to go around the garden, do some woodwork or wander farther apart. Usually I take my SLR with me, as I've been an amateur photographer for years. Some shots are available also on the net.
